Achieving Career Success in Today's Organization

In today’s organizations, with their flattened organizational charts and product teams, individuals must look for new definitions of career success not necessarily predicated upon moving up. Now, the career path resembles a jungle gym where a variety of moves can enhance different skills yet lead to the same place. Employee perceptions are often based upon the old “military model” on which organizations used to be based. These perceptions may not mirror reality and serve as a barrier to experiencing career satisfaction and, in turn, success. Learning how to remove them is key to growth and development.
